Black Girl Moves(BGM) is creating space for women, teens, and girls of COLOR to release emotional, mental, and physical stress, through eclectic movements. Black Girl Moves incorporates and welcomes all aspects of movement that stimulates the body and mind. BGM opens space to freely express yourself through movement, while gaining connection to a community designed to encourage, sustain, and take care of each other, in a non-judgmental and safe space. Wellness is more than being free from illness: it is a process of change and growth towards a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle. BGM encourages and support living a healthy and fulfilling life, desired for self.
Black Girl Moves aims to create, introduce, and open space for wellness naturally through enjoyable forms of movement with our culture and style. In order to live a higher quality life, maintaining optimal wellness is key.
Everything we feel and do relates to our well-being and directly affects our actions and emotions. In order to subdue stress, reduce illness, and ensure positive moments in your life, you must achieve optimal wellness.
BGM is honored to support wellness through movement of Yoga, Zumba, Walking, Stepping, Hiking, Sound Healing and Mindfulness Exercises. BGM partners with other wellness businesses and instructors to offer additional wellness or fitness goals that BGM may not offer.

BGM goal is to grow with individuals and groups to create a healthier and happier image of self and community. Black Girl Moves desires to elevate women, teens, and girls of COLOR to their divine being. BGM encourages movement to flow and release negative emotional energy (anxiety, depression, stress, doubt, trauma) from the body. Black Girl Moves is captivating and encouraging a lifestyle of holistic stability through movement.
Brianna Blackshear is a licensed graduate social worker in Washington DC. She has over twelve years of experience partnering with youth, families, and agencies to support the development of change in the government systems. Brianna enjoys advocating, educating, supporting, and empowering individuals and groups for the betterment of all humanity.
Brianna’s passion for service and supporting others to become the best version of themselves has motivated her to enlighten others about health and wellness through the form of artistic movements. Brianna has always had a heart for physical fitness since a young age. She enjoys yoga, zumba, high-energy fitness activities, mindfulness practices and all things related to health and wellness.
Brianna is a licensed zumba instructor; and currently in the process of completing 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. She has a certification for Trauma-Informed Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Brianna has a purpose to empower, connect, and support women to community through a holistic approach. Brianna’s values to connect and build positive relationships through movement, is what inspired her to create Black Girl Moves. She enjoys creating spaces to be authentic and free as a Black Woman.
